Completing College and Career Pathway Lessons (minimum of 3 completed with evidence of completion) is a new Illinois graduation requirement for SY2024-25. Students will log into their Xello account to complete these lessons during their homeroom hour. Each grade level will be assigned specific tasks to complete each year that will result in completion of this graduation requirement by the end of their senior year.
For Seniors, Xello has partnered with CommonApp and Parchment to streamline college application and transcript submission services. See the counselor for help with syncing your accounts.
For Xello student account information, password resets, or any other questions - please email Ms. Ross.
Navigate your entire college application journey with Common App
Common App is not a requirement to use for college applications but it can be a helpful tool and will sync with your Xello account. Once you sync with your Xello account, you can apply to all chosen colleges, have recommendation letters uploaded, and have the counselor submit your school information all from one place. This app will provide application deadlines, send reminders, and seal and deliver all required documents to each college/university you have added to your list.
College Rep visits at BHS will either be during lunch (12:16PM-12:46PM) in the Commons or during Homeroom (ONLY A Days) (2:12PM-3:00PM) in the Library. College Rep visits will be announced during morning announcements a week to a few days before the visit will occur. This is a great opportunity for students to ask college reps their questions. This is also a good time for students to practice communicating with college/university representatives that they are interested in.
Please let me know if there is a college/university that YOU would like to see at BHS and I will make the arrangements!
