The theme of the Louismobile is supposed to give a child’s toy vibe. The reason it is a rollback shoot-forward toy is that when I was younger, those were my favorite types of toys. I want the first thought to be “I remember those types of toys!” when my invention is used. I hope that people can find entertainment in things they used to enjoy, even if it is as small as a toy car.
The way it works is the rubber band is rolled back on both axels when the car is pushed backward and when it is released the car propels forward. The bottom where the rubber band magic is can detach itself to get a closer look at how it works. The yellow pieces on the top and side can be used as a handle like an item when pulling the car back. The cardboard sides are sturdy enough for handling its purpose as well.
The rubber band is used as a way to boost the car forward when rolled back. As the car is rolled back, the rubber band is wrapped around the axel and when it is let go, the loss of tension accelerates the car forward. The distance traveled depends on how far it is rolled back, but be careful! Like any other roll back car, if you push it too far back the rubber band will snap.
The reason the car is built the way it is, to take the user back to the old school cars that could be rolled back and run forward. The car could be used in a small race if there was another car. There are a lot of possibilities with small toy cars! Imagination is all it takes. I wanted the invention to be small and simple because I find a lot of entertainment and focus in simple things!
