Winter Guard is an extra-curricular activity which takes the outdoor element of Color Guard in a marching band, and moves it indoors! Like marching band, Winter Guard uses a combination of visual, dance, and choreography put together to accompany a recording track with an overlying visual theme. Winter Guard starts at the conclusion of marching band season, and runs from November through the first weekend in April. The Winter Guard meets two to three times a week for three hours each rehearsal. There are five Saturday competitions that take place from February through the first weekend in April.
No experience is necessary to join Winter Guard! This ensemble is comprised of returners from our color guard section in marching band who wish to refine their skills for the upcoming marching band season, and beginners who are interested in learning this fun, inclusive craft!
