jazz band

The Jazz Band at Broad Run is an extra-curricular group that starts up in November once marching band season has ended. This is a group where anyone who wants to learn about jazz is welcome! Many students in this group learn a traditional jazz instrument, or refine jazz skills on their current instrument. This is a great starting point for younger musicians who are interested in being in jazz ensemble as a band class one day. Students in this group will learn how to properly play their instrument, learn basic jazz styles, improvisation and theory. This group generally meets Tuesdays and Thursdays after school for one hour from November through the end of April.

After March, this group switches to meeting before school to accommodate scheduling for the band program. Students who participate in Jazz Band are also able to participate in other indoor activities as there are no conflicts.
