Second STEP: Child Protection/Safety

This curriculum is taught to all of our K-5 students. There are two areas that are focused on: Safety Rules and Child Abuse Prevention.

Students are taught to recognize unsafe situations, some might be breaking rules (safety or touching rules), refuse to participate and then report to adults that they trust.

Homework is sent home weekly for 6 weeks, which allows for more practice and a way to communicate with your child about these very important topics. Homework is available in English and Spanish.

Recognize:

Is it safe? What's the rule?

Refuse:

Say words that mean NO!Do actions that show you are not okay with this behavior.

Report:

Tell a trusted adult to help you
