Character Traits we work on are: Courage, Respect, Perseverance, Gratitude, Honesty, Kindness, Empathy, Responsibility, Cooperation, Creativity
In the world, we need to be able interpret “why” and “how” situations happen and then respond appropriately to that information. By practicing Respect, we can improve communication and reduce misunderstandings when interacting with our community. What do you think Respect means? What might it look like? Sound like?
Can you think of a time you showed Respect to someone?
How can we show Respect at school or at home?
A big part of Responsibility is how we interact with, or engage with, others. As we work to keep healthy relationships, we must understand that our choices impact those around us.

Often we can find ourselves noticing things that we don’t like or that we wish were different. Choosing to appreciate things in our life, things in others, and things in the world can be a challenge, but practicing Gratitude will help us to be more confident, calm, and focused.

Why do you think it is important to use perspective-taking when practicing Empathy?
We all experience challenges in our lives. Moments when we feel like we can’t do it, or that we want to give up. We need to develop tools to help us work through those challenges in order to grow instead of giving up.

It’s not always easy to be Honest in our words, actions, or thoughts with others or with ourselves. Practicing Honesty with ourselves allows for us to identify emotions, be aware of our emotions, regulate emotions, and advocate for our emotions.
What is 1 strong emotion you had this week? How did you react or respond to it?
Share how being Honest with ourselves can help us to be more confident, calm, or focused?
