What is a Leadership Development Event?

• Leadership Development Events (LDEs) build on what is learned in agricultural classes and encourage members to develop essential communication, leadership, and teamwork skills. These events are designed to prepare students for careers in agriculture and beyond by enhancing their ability to think critically, speak effectively, and work collaboratively in real-world scenarios. LDEs answer the question, "How can I use these leadership skills in my future?"

LDEs at Brazoswood FFA:

• Public Relations – Develops and delivers an FFA promotional speech to engage the public.

• Creed Speaking – Recites and explains the FFA Creed, demonstrating confidence and understanding of its meaning.

• Ag Advocacy – Presents an informative speech promoting agriculture to the public.

• Job Interview – Simulates a real-world interview process, including résumés and professional interactions.

• Agricultural Issues Forum – Teams research and present both sides of an agricultural issue.

• Radio Broadcasting – Creates and presents a professional agricultural news broadcast.

• Ag Skills – Demonstrates proficiency in a specific agricultural skill through hands-on teamwork.

• Quiz – Tests individual knowledge of FFA history, parliamentary procedure, and agricultural facts.
