What We Do
Counseling and Crisis Response
BHA counselors provide confidential individual and group counseling sessions for students
Students can be referred by themselves, a parent via email, homeroom teacher, or other faculty member
In the case of a serious safety concern, the counselor notifies the Deputy Principal, Junior School Principal, Child Protection Officer, and the student's parents
Social Emotional Learning
Counselors provide resources and lessons related to:
Kelso's Choice
Restorative Practice
Safe & Unsafe Touch
Stress Management
Building Healthy Relationships
Restorative Practice
Counselors use Restorative Practice to assist students in building and repairing relationships.
“Restorative practices is an emerging social science that studies how to strengthen relationships between individuals as well as social connections within communities.” -International Institute for Restorative Practice
Parent Workshops
The counselors provide workshops throughout the year to familiarize parents with the social emotional techniques and concepts that students learn at school. This allows learning to continue outside the school environment.
