D3: Suggestions for improvement.
As part of your research, you will need to collect survey data using an online survey. Carefully written survey questions will help you gather effective data.
To do this, you will need to follow three steps:
Create a 30-60 video overview of your presentation site.
Create 3-4 survey questions
Embed the video and survey into your presentation site.
Goal: Create a video that gives an overview of your project, presentation site, and design.
Audience:
Since your work is in English, but your audience may not speak English, it will be helpful to create a short video to communicate your design goals to them.
Requirements:
30-60 second video, using the app of your choice
Spoken narration in Korean or Chinese, or English (choose the language that your user group is most likely to understand best); The narration should be clear and understandable
Show an overview of your site design brief (A4) and design ideas (B2) and final design (B3).
You can use either of the tools below, or one you are familiar with.
Beginner
This is a Chrome extensions that you can install in your browser. Your file is saved to your google drive. Quick and easy.
Click here to install the extension and set up your computer.
Intermediate:
This is an app on your Macbook that you can use to create screencasts. Little more editing control, as well as a little more time to do the editing, but higher quality video and sound.
Create 3-4 survey questions that will help you gather information about you designs' performance.
Your set of questions should include:
one Closed Question
one Open Question
one Multiple Choice or Likert Scale question
Important: Your questions and options should be bilingual (English and Korean). This will allow your user to understand the questions. If you are not a Korean speaker, you may write your questions in English.

Review the "Types of Survey Questions" slides below.
Create your three questions in as a google form. Remember to write them in both Korean and English.
Day 5
D3: Suggestions for improvement.
Analyze and evaluate the success of your design using the data you have gathered.
In Slide D2.4, add annotations to an image of your final design that describe and evaluate it. You can also highlight or show weak areas of the design and describe how you might improve them. You can also use your poster if this is helpful
By the end of this class you should:
Analyzed the success of your design. Record this in D2.4
Day 5
D3: Suggestions for improvement.
Show how you would improve the design, based on the feedback from your peers and expert and user.
Use pen, marker, or Fusion 360 to show the changes you would make to your design. Include annotations.
Include these images in Slide D3 of your inquiry portfolio.
By the end of this class you should:
Create 2-3 images that show how your design might be improved. Include annotations.
Day 5
B4: Present Planning Drawings
C3: Presenting your idea
In D4, write a short statement that evaluates the impact of your design. Use your research, feedback, and own observations to support your evaluation.
By the end of this class you should:
complete a statement of impact about your design inquiry
