400 MHz
Our 400 MHz spectrometers are used heavily by the researchers and courses in the Chemistry and Biochemistry departments, however, we do provide NMR services to external users when time permits. Generally, commercial clients are paired with a well-trained graduate student who will acquire the necessary spectra. Please see the "Rates" page for detailed costs and our policy statement for additional details. If you have questions or are interested in obtaining 400 MHz data, please contact the NMR director (Brian Michael, (781) 736-2543).
800 MHz
The Avance 800 MHz spectrometer was conceived as a regional high-field facility. All non-profit biomedical researchers in New England are eligible to become users of the spectrometer. Since we came online, we have had users from Harvard Medical School, Brown University, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Tufts University School of Medicine, Boston University School of Medicine, University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Boston College, Boston University, Tufts University, University of Kansas, University of New Hampshire and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. In addition, when time is available we can accommodate for-profit clients (several local biopharmaceutical and biotechnology companies have used the 800).
Steps required to become a user:
