Hello, I'm Dr. Rachel Gould and am thrilled that your child is taking AP psych. In this era of intense curricular scrutiny, I want to be totally transparent with you. In psych class, we will explore many controversial topics, just like you did if you took PSY101 back in college. This is a college level course, with college level expectations. The College Board sets our curriculum, and while the vocabulary is both complex and not listed in any neat singular list, I've tried my best and given students full access to the current vocabulary that will be on the AP test by unit on their unit cover pages.

If a parent wants to opt their student out of any of the course content, that is very much the parent's choice, and their student may take this course at the honors or college prep level instead of this AP level. Thank you for understanding that this is college level material and this is an elective course that does not count towards graduation requirements.
Should my kid do Dual Enrollment or take the AP test?
Great question!
If you know where they are applying, please check out: What score is needed on the AP test to get credit at every college or university.
Cost: AP test $97 Dual Enrollment $128 per credit (3 credit course)
If student qualifies for free and reduced lunch, there is state funding, see counselor for details.
MA state schools are required by MA legislature to accept dual enrollment credits. I've seen out of state and private schools accept them too, it really varies widely.
