"Understanding the Impact of Parental Involvement on Students' Academic Success among Grade 10 Students at Bicutan Parochial School Inc.
From the moment we are born and as we grow into babies, our parents are the ones who teach us our very first words. They become our first teachers, shaping us with the knowledge and moral values they impart. They also become part of our decision-making process, guiding us throughout our development. When we reach the right age to start learning, they send us to school to expand our horizons, nurture our curiosity, and provide us with opportunities to explore the wonders of the world around us. There, we slowly begin to learn on our own, but with the support of our parents and their involvement in the children's educational process, it helps us achieve our academic goals and find success.
Therefore, Parents play a vital role in motivating their children to be social actors that contribute to the student's academic success. The parents' active participation and accountability throughout the whole process of the children's learning process inspires and influences their children for a better outcome. Research indicates that students exhibit enhanced academic performance, increased attendance rates, and improved scores on standardized tests when their parents actively engage in their educational journey (Castillo et al., 2020).Â
With that said, this research aims to understand how parental involvement impacts students' academic success among Grade 10 students at Bicutan Parochial School Inc. This qualitative study seeks to explore and delve deeper into the respondents' experiences regarding how their parents' involvement affects their academic performance and success in both home and school settings. The researchers will investigate the various factors and barriers that hinder parents from actively participating in their children's academic journey and development, potentially impeding students' success.
