SAT /ACT

Why do I need to take the SAT or ACT?

Standardized tests are a way for some colleges to determine your readiness for college-level work. Your score on the SAT or ACT serves as a single data point that can be compared with other students. Not all colleges require SAT scores, but many continue to use these scores as a way to distinguish between students in the application process.

Registering for the SAT and ACT

Regardless of your post-secondary plans, we recommend that everyone takes the SAT or ACT at least twice (once at the end of junior year and a second at the beginning of senior year). Follow these links to register for the SAT and ACT. You DO NOT need to take both the SAT and ACT. Visit this page to help you decide which test is best for you.

We are happy to provide fee waivers for those students who qualify financially. You can visit this page for more information on fee waivers.

Sending Scores

As you are applying to colleges, you will need to send your scores to the colleges that require them. Learn how to send your SAT scores here and how to send ACT scores here.
