PSAT for Grades 10 and 11

Boston Latin Academy offers the PSAT free to all students in grades 10 and 11 during mid October. The PSAT is a practice for the SAT and in addition to providing exposure to the exam, it also provides students with a breakdown of the skills they need to improve in order to improve their scores on the SAT. In December, students are given the scores electronically by the College Board and the school returns a paper copy of their scores shortly thereafter. In addition to being preparation for the SAT, student's PSAT scores are used to determine the likely that students will be successful in Advanced Placement (AP) courses. The College Board provides the school with a report called AP Potential which rates students on their likelihood to score a 3 or higher on different AP exams based on their PSAT Scores.
