Boston Private Industry Council (PIC)

The Boston Private Industry Council (PIC) is a nonprofit organization that strengthens Boston’s communities and its workforce by connecting youth and adults with education and employment opportunities that align with the needs of area employers. Our work is grounded in the belief that meaningful employment changes lives, lifts people out of poverty, and strengthens the local economy.

The PIC does this by engaging with students in school through Career Specialists who conduct workshops, assist with the PIC online application, lead job shadows and provide other career exploration opportunities for students. Students who successfully engage with the PIC can work with our employer partners for the summer, which include MGH, Brigham and Women, State Street and many others.

The PIC works with 10th-12 graders typically, but does have additional resources around School Year and Summer opportunities for students who are younger.

BLA has one full-time Career Specialist, Marlene Price. Ms. Price is available to students and families via online appointments and/or walk-ins.

Ms. Price can assist with:

  • Resume-building
