Leah KNOX Scholars - Research Internship for Rising Juniors and Seniors
Rising Juniors and Seniors (Aged 16+) please view the list of application requirements HERE. Interested students should apply HERE by March 12th!
**No prior lab or research experience required**
The LEAH Project is a STEM access and college & career readiness program for high school youth historically underrepresented in STEM. We are recruiting for the LEAH Knox Data Science & Biomedical Research Internship Summer 2023. This is a 2-year program, which includes biology and data analysis lab work at MIT, mentorship opportunities with STEM professionals, and summer internship placements. This is a stipended opportunity; students will earn approximately $2250 for summer 2023. You can learn more here: https://www.leahknoxscholars.org/.
Boch Center City Spotlights Summer LEadership Program
A little about the Boch Center’s City Spotlights Summer Leadership Program:
City Spotlights Summer Leadership Program is a school-year youth employment program that will hire up to 45 Teen Leaders, specializing in an area of the performing arts (dance, music, or acting) to use the arts for social change in their communities. City Spotlights is a 6-week program where Teen Leaders will work collaboratively to create an original educational performance to be presented at the Shubert Theatre, as well as arts-based workshop on a social justice topic that will tour to different community sites in the city for a week during the summer. They will also participate in an Advocacy Presentation to government officials, and Flashmob Tour for a full day bringing their dance, music, and theatre pieces all around Boston. Through these presentations Teen Leaders will deepen their facilitation and job readiness skills; engage Boston residents in meaningful dialogue about a social justice topic; and operate as change agents in their communities.
***Interested students should apply HERE as soon as possible! Auditions starting in February*** Performing arts experience not required!
Eligibility requirements:
- You must be 15 on or before September 1, 2023, cannot turn 19 on or before September 1, 2023.
- Live in the city of Boston.
- Due to COVID precautions and as a Boch Center employee policy, all participants must be vaccinated by the first day of the program.
harvard medical school project success for Biomedical careers

Are you interested in a paid summer biomedical research experience at Harvard Medical School?
We are seeking applications for Project Success: Opening the Door to Biomedical Careers at Harvard Medical School. The program will run in-person for 8 weeks beginning the last week in June to August 18th. Project Success students MUST currently be high school juniors or seniors and reside in either Boston or Cambridge, MA. All Project Success paid interns will be matched with a lab mentor and assigned to a Harvard Medical School research lab. Project Success students will be paid during the duration of the program. Use the High School Student Application Checklist for preparing and submitting an application. Applications must be completed electronically. The checklist has detailed instructions to gather materials, prepare responses and submit. The Project Success web page includes videos which will help students understand what to expect and provides additional detail on eligibility criteria. Please review the criteria to determine if you are eligible before submitting.

Year-round health Career programing for grades 9-12
The program accepts students entering the 9th to 12th grade. Students must live in Boston to be eligible to apply for the program. Accepted students receive a stipend to take part in the program. The program has 2 components namely a summer enrichment program as well as an after-school academic year program. Recruitment for the Spring Cohort has ended. During During The Hip Hop Architecture Camp, participants will explore architecture through the lens of Hip Hop Culture. Our students will create their own design concepts for music video sets, explore materials, textures, and lighting.

8th and 9th graders - february Break paid training program with PLI!
The Winter Training Institute is a pipeline into the Peer Leadership Institute. It is an opportunity for 8th and 9th graders to get a glance at the work that our current peer leaders do during our school year and summer program.
The Institute runs during the BPS February vacation week. This year that would be, Tuesday, February 21-Friday, February 24th from 9am-2pm. Students who complete all 4 days will receive a stipend of $300 for their participation and will have priority for our summer job opportunity. Below, you will find an overview of what the day will look like at the Winter Training Institute.

The Norman B. Leventhal Map & Education Center at the Boston Public Library
inspires curiosity and learning, and fosters geographic perspectives on the
relationships between people and places, through free and accessible collections
and resources, critical interpretation and research, and K-12 and public education.
Students will: Create map visualizations of geospatial data about their experiences
with transportation in Boston, learn about careers in GIS, create maps that will be
displayed at the BPL.
No prior experience needed, just a willingness to learn and work together.
Students will learn about Boston neighborhoods, learn about jobs and college
programs in geospatial technology and create maps that will go on display in an
upcoming exhibition about transportation in Boston.

Apply HERE today to become a Bikes Not Bombs Youth Apprentice!
Bikes Not Bombs uses the bicycle as a vehicle for social change to achieve economic mobility for Black and other marginalized people in Boston and the Global South. BNB collects roughly 5000 used bicycles every year, and through international partnerships, sends them to those in need around the world. BNB also reconditions some bicycles and sells them in its retail shop. All proceeds help to fund their youth and international work.
Through its Youth Apprenticeship program, young people in Boston can learn bike safety and maintenance skills while earning money, as well as a bike of their own. Young people working at BNB help instruct Bike School, assist customers in the shop, and help with the recycling and repair of donated bicycles.
