Come out and see your Lady Bucs and Bucs basketball teams take on Weston High School this Thursday at home for Senior Night. Girls start at 6 with boys following.
Lunch concessions are shut down until mid-January.
Any young lady interested in participating in the Lady of the Locket Beauty Pageant on Saturday, January 20th, needs to stop by Ms. Raley’s room, E-17 to pick up an information sheet and application. All entry fees and forms are due by January 10th.

Congrats to our HHS Marksmanship Team. This week they earned an invite to the Air Force JROTC National Championships in Anniston, Alabama in February. Leland Merritt, Kate Lewis, Layla Briggs, Erin Rigsby and Savannah Rimmer will represent Haughton as the 9th ranked AFJROTC team in the nation. Way to go again Bucs in Blue!

JROTC competed in the Virtual portion of East Central High School Skills Meet in San Antonio last weekend where the HHS Marksmanship Varsity team earned 1st Place and JV earned 2nd Place and the Academic Team Varsity earned 2nd Place and JV earned 4th Place. Congrats to the Bucs and Blue.

Ronald Reagan AFJROTC, North Carolina defeated Haughton AFJROTC marksmanship team last week in the National Virtual Air Rifle League Distinguished Division for the AFJROTC Conference Championship. Haughton earned runner-up. The Bucs in Blue were led by Layla Briggs and Katelyn Lewis. Overall this season Haughton AFJROTC finished with a 5 - 2 record in the league.

Attention Seniors! Your Senior Class Photo is scheduled for Thursday morning at the football stadium (weather permitting). Go directly to the football stadium when the first bell rings. After the photo has been taken, any senior needing to take Senior Cap & Gown photos will go to the boys gym for those retakes. Seniors taking cap & gown photos need to wear the following: guys wear a white collared shirt and tie; girls wear a grey or white school tshirt or a white collared shirt.

Congrats to the Lady Bucs Basketball team on their 6-0 start to the season. They’ll be back in action tonight at 6pm at home vs the Castor Lady Tigers. The boys team will also be playing Castor after the girls.
Just before the break, the HHS marksmanship team narrowly defeated Pueblo West Army JROTC, 1079 to 1077, in the 2023 National Sporter Virtual Air Rifle League. The team was led by Katelyn Lewis who shot a 285 out of 300. With a record of 5 and 1, they finish the regular season in 2nd place in the Air Force JROTC Conference and will compete in the Championship match this week.

⚽ How local teams stack up as high school soccer gets underway (Haughton boys ranked 7th in SBJ local coach's poll)
Students can pay $5 to wear jeans on Friday, November 17. Proceeds will go to fund Christmas the Buccaneer Way.
The boys basketball team plays tonight at home against Bossier- this is a STUDENT RED OUT. Any student in red with their student ID gets in for free! JV starts at 6 and Varsity starts at 7.

The Big Red Band's Color Guard is taking new applications for the Winter Guard team. Look for the QR Code on the flyers around campus! Training Camp is NEXT WEEK after school from 3-5 in the Band Room!
If you took the ASVAB at HHS on Oct. 18th, please plan to attend a brief information session in the Library during SKUL Time today. Mrs. Stallcup will give you your scores and SSG Browning from the Louisiana Army National Guard will be available to help you interpret your scores and explain how to take advantage of the career exploration tools that are available to you.

The HHS Cyber Defense Team competed in Round 1 of the CyberPatriot National competition. Lead by Andrew Roberts, they earned 2nd place in the state, 1st place for all Air Force JROTC teams and 12th place in the Nation for all Air Force JROTC Teams. Congrats Bucs in Blue.

Congratulations to the Haughton Bucs Cross Country Team. They competed in the regional meet yesterday in Ruston. All 12 runners set a season best time and 9 of the 12 set a new personal best over the 3 mile course. Clara Hicks qualified to compete in the State Meet by finishing 24th out of 79 runners.
Congratulations to Mrs. Lile's first block class for being in dress code. They will receive donuts today!

This past Saturday, our Big Red Buccaneer Band participated in the Classic on the Cane Marching Contest at NSU. Percussion and Band earned a Superior rating, Color Guard earned an Excellent rating, Noah Norman was named Most Outstanding Soloist, and the band placed 5th over all out of 24 bands! They are headed to Lafayette this Saturday to compete in the Louisiana Showcase of Marching Bands. Good Luck to our Big Red Buccaneer Band!!

The JROTC Marksmanship team defeated Grove City High School from Ohio during Round 4 of the Orion National Air Rifle Virtual League 1055 to 1003. HHS was led by Katelyn Lewis with a score of 274 out of 300 and was top marksman. The team is competing in the Distinguished Division where they are ranked in 11 place out of 54 teams and are in 2nd place in the Air Force JROTC Conference with a 2 - 0 record.

JROTC attended the Natchitoches Central Drill Meet Saturday where the marksmanship team commanded by Cadet Katelyn Lewis earned 1st, Layla Briggs earned top marksman and Kate Lewis earned runner-up, the armed color guard team commanded by Cadet Ethan Perkins earned 3rd place and the unarmed color guard team commanded by Brooklynn Marshall earned 3rd placed. Congratulations Bucs in Blue!
The swim team competed Saturday in the Louisiana High School conference. The team came in 4th place overall and Logan Pickren came in 1st place overall for the 50 free preliminaries and the 50 free finals. Way to go Bucs!!

JROTC attended the North Caddo High School Drill Meet this past Saturday at which time the marksmanship team commanded by Cadet Katelyn Lewis placed 1st and the armed color guard team commanded by Cadet Ethan Perkins placed 1st. What a way to start the drill competition season. Congratulations Bucs in Blue!

We have a runoff for homecoming king. Polls are now open and will close today at 2pm. Court members will be announced later this afternoon.
