A huge congrats to our HHS Marksmanship Team...they are State Champions! This weekend they crushed their competition. The cadet Buccaneers' Varsity team not only finished 1st out of 44 teams with another school record, but the JV team also finished 1st out of all the other JV teams and 11th overall. Individually, against over 150 competitors, the Varsity marksmen earned: 1st and state champion by Chris Fick with another school record, 2nd and state runner-up by Emily Wood, 6th by Ethan Evans and 8th by Erin Rigsby. Way to go Bucs in Blue!
The Lady Bucs basketball team will travel to Neville today for the 2nd round of the playoffs. Game time is at 6 and admission is $12. Come support the girls and help send them to the next round. Good luck!
Haughton High is proud to announce that 2 of our students have placed in the district-level i3 Inspired Authors Competition. Congratulations to Lexie Clary, who placed 2nd in the Fiction category with her story "The Blooming," and Kingsley Dodd, who placed 1st in the Poetry category with her poem "Caged Ways." We are proud to have you represent HHS at the i3 Art Expo on Saturday, March 28!

Our sophomores had the highest attendance for Wednesday with 94% present. Our overall attendance was 91%. Our goal is 95% for a schoolwide attendance reward.
Powerlifting will be set up outside the cafeteria before school and during lunch shifts Feb 19-20 to sell our always requested Southern Heritage meat sticks. Cash or card....$2 each or 6 for $10. Get them while they last!

The HHS Varsity Marksmanship Team competed in the Air Force JROTC Marksmanship National Championships this weekend, with record performances: Junior Chris Fick finished in 3rd place nationally with a school record 552 out of 600 points and the team finished in 7th place with a school record 4135 points. Congrats to the team of commander Emily Wood, deputy commander Erin Rigsby, Chris Fick, Ethan Evans, and Taylor McCord. To add to their record performance, they earned an invite to the JROTC All Service National Championships at Camp Perry, Ohio in March for the second year in a row, the first back-to-back invites in team history.
