Make Up:
All performers in the Main show are asked to wear stage make-up. We believe every dancer is perfect just as they are and certainly do not need make-up in every day life. However, stage lighting is a whole different story and without stage make-up, dancers will look washed out and featureless on stage, especially in large theatres. Performers use stage make-up to enhance their own natural features.
We ask that all make-up be neutral tones (browns, pinks, etc) and based on the age of the dancer. We suggest that male dancers could use a little bit of bronzer to highlight their features. We ask all female dancers to have a brown eye shadow, pink blush and red lip colour. Older dancers can wear more make-up for stage and Squad dancers must wear fake eye lashes. Different dances have different hairstyles, so you and your dancer will want to review our costuming page to see what style he or she will need for each performance. CLICK HERE (or see below) to get to the costuming page.
We have volunteers and older dancers backstage who can help your dancer change their hairstyle if required, but we will keep any changes to a minimum. Please pack the following in your dancer's bag:
bobby pins
hair pins
clear rubber bands
elastic bands that are the same colour as your dancer's hair
gel
comb and brush
