REHEARSAL SCHEDULE

SUNDAY 19th  NOVEMBER 2023:  Technical Rehearsal, 

ERINDALE THEATRE

 ~COMPULSORY FOR ALL PERFORMERS TO ATTEND~

8.45am: ARRIVAL TIME: All Dance Kingdom Showcase students arrive - meet your group leader. 

                      - Arrive with hair & optional make up completed.

9.00am: Get changed into Costumes. 

• 1 parent & dancer goes with their Group Leader to the dressing room to get ready.

• Dancers will meet their Fairytale friend & say 'goodbye' to parents.  

• Dancers brought into the theatre for rehearsal.                 

9.15am:     Tech Rehearsal on stage - No parents in the Theatre.  

10.30am: Tech Rehearsal ends: Dancers taken backstage to prepare for the show.

10.45am: House Opens 

11am: SHOWTIME: Dance Kingdom Showcase "BENEATH THE BIG TOP"

12.15pm: Show finishes 

• 1 parent to collect their dancer backstage from their Group Leader, hand in costume bag & Sign Out!  

PROCEDURE FOR THE DAY:

PRE-SHOW: Please arrive on time at 8.45am. There is ample free parking at Erindale Theatre.  

Dance Kingdom dancers are to arrive with hair & optional make up completed. 

They will each receive a small craft bag with activities, a small bottle of water, a packet of Tiny Teddies and a fruit platter to share to snack on before the show. Please contact us if you do not wish your dancer to receive this in their bags due to allergies or other reasons. 

If your dancer is in more than 1 item, please pack their other dance shoes (& stockings if required) into a named bag. 

Once you have arrived at Erindale Theatre, go to the Foyer and meet your Group Leader (allocated groups below). 

You will sign them in with this person and each dancer will receive an identification wrist band to wear.  

One adult only, for each Dance Kingdom dancer is then allowed backstage with their dancer to get changed into their first costume. No photos or videos are allowed in any changing areas. 

Once ready, your dancer will meet their surprise Fairytale friends who will take them into the theatre and allow parents to leave. 

The dancers will then sit in the theatre for the stage rehearsal.

DURING THE SHOW: Once your child has completed their rehearsal, their Group Leader will take them backstage & look after them during the Performance.  Your child will have their professional photos and get ready for their performance on stage. 

At the end of the show, ALL dancers will return to the stage to receive a special award and moment in the spotlight. 

AFTER THE SHOW: Once the show is complete, we ask 1 adult per family to come to the dressing rooms to assist your child/ren getting out of their costume and putting on their regular clothes. 

Please make sure you hand back your costume bag and sign out with your group leader.

*Please note:  

 ·         All times are approximate and may vary on the day.

 ·         Dancers must arrive on time so that they do not miss their stage rehearsal. It is important to familiarise them with the stage.

 ·         Dancers are to arrive with hair & optional make up completed. 

·         Bring your correct dance shoes that you are wearing on stage (all foot wear must be approved by the theatre). Make sure all personal items are named. 

·       Only 1 adult for each Dance Kingdom dancer is allowed into the backstage area prior to the rehearsal and after the show for collection.

·         The Technical rehearsals will run in replacement of our Saturday classes.

·         During rehearsals and the performance, students remain under Bom Funk teacher & parent volunteer’s supervision. All adults backstage have Working With Children Checks. All Bom Funk staff have First Aid qualifications. 

·         Students are to remain inside the venue - students under 18 will not be permitted to leave unless signed out by a parent or guardian. Students cannot be collected from backstage until the show has finished.
