Sadie Webster has been playing saxophone for eight years. Currently she attends Boise State University where she studies under Rodney Zuroeveste, Professor of Saxophone at BSU, a Selmer artist and distinguished musician. She plans to graduate from Boise State with a Bachelor’s in Music Education. In addition to Professor Zuroeveste, she has studied under other teachers that have been very influential in her time as a saxophonist. Some of these musicians are Eric Skidmore, Sandon Mayhew, Vanessa Sielert and Curtis Griffiths. Since she began playing, she has had the privilege of being in a number of ensembles and has had the honor of performing under the batons of Andrew Boysen Jr., Marcellus Brown, Alex Noppe, Michael Golemo, Linda Moorhouse, and Keitaro Harada. She has performed in a fair amount of county and honor bands, the 2014 and 2016 All-State Idaho Bands, the 2015 All-Northwest Band, and the Boise Philharmonic this fall, as they performed Rhapsody in Blue. Ms. Webster has also placed well in district and state solo competitions, taking second in the State Solo Competition in 2015. During high school, her jazz band and wind ensemble at Vallivue High School won many awards and was able to perform at the All-Northwest Conference, after being selected out of many different groups. Sadie also enjoyed performing with a saxophone quartet, coached by Rodney Zuroeveste. In addition to the ensembles Sadie plays in, she loves bringing her music to others by actively performing within her Boise community. Currently at Boise State, Sadie is an active participant in Boise State’s high ensemble, Symphonic Winds, directed by Marcellus Brown, the Bill Rankin Quartet, coached by Rodney Zuroeveste and the Boise State Jazz Lab Band, directed by Alex Noppe. After graduating with her Bachelor’s Degree, Sadie plans to receive a Master’s Degree in Saxophone Performance and hopes to become a professional studio performer where she can further grow her love for music.
