Keegan Saunders, a graduate of Skyview High School in Nampa Idaho is a first year student at Boise State University. He is pursing a Bachelors Degree in both Computer Science and General Music. His musical career began in 2009 under the musical advice of renowned saxophone player Sandon Mayhew. Saunders was under the regular instruction of Sandon Mayhew from October 2009 through August of 2016. He is now receiving instruction from Boise State saxophone professor, Rodney Zuroeveste.
Since 2009 Saunders has taken part in numerous notable ensembles and performances around the northwest such as principal tenor saxophonist in the 2015 Idaho All State Concert Band. His achievements also extend to receiving awards at the 2015 Idaho State Solo Competition as well as recognition for best soloist at the 2016 Gene Harris Jazz Festival.
Keegan is excited about his opportunity at Boise State University and is actively seeking to further his experience in both the genres of jazz and classical saxophone.
