Students who accelerate themselves in Science courses at Fairmont are taking Biology in 9th grade, a year earlier than the regular scheduling pace. It is the last and highest level of four general science courses offered at Fairmont Junior High. This course fulfills the Biology requirement for high school graduation and opens their schedules for other classes of interest in high school, including Advanced Placement in science and other dual college credit courses. Students who are advanced learners and have an interest in this course should discuss this with their school counselor and their parents before committing to the accelerated program. Students will closely follow the Boise District Biology Curriculum standards, and will study living processes in the four main thematic areas of Cells, Genetics, Evolution, and Ecology. Our class agenda will be updated weekly on the slide presentation below.
