SOS Suicide Prevention Training Resources
UHS, along with WVU Behavioral Medicine and the United Summit Center, will be conducting Suicide Prevention Training for all 9th Grade students November 6 - 9 during Advisory.
Goals of the program are as follows:
1) To educate students on recognizing the signs of depression and/or suicidal thoughts in themselves and others
2) To teach students appropriate steps to take if someone they know is contemplating suicide
3) To help students identify sources of support in the school and community
4) To offer students an opportunity to talk with members of our student support team, the United Summit Center, or a representative from WVU Behavioral Medicine

Regional Transition Navigator (RTN) Program
The Regional Transition Navigator program is designed to provide information, training, and resources/services to youth and young adults 14-25 years of age who are at risk. This service is free for participants.
What services are provided?
Connect with eligible individuals to identify needs, assess skill levels, and link to needed service providers
Develop a network of supports for individuals based on their needs to improve their health outcomes
Provide consultation to other partners and providers about the needs of individuals and how best to strengthen the services within the state
We can help connect youth to resources for:
Housing, transportation, utilities, food, violence prevention and support
School
Health care, medication and mental health services
Communication skills to advocate on needs
Life skills
Knowing who to turn to for help
Support for youth who have run away from home
