Sir Isaac Newton
For this assignment you will be creating a storyboard illustrating the events of the American Revolution leading up to the Declaration of Independence. Starting with the randomly selected events provided, you are to determine which other events are necessary to produce a cohesive narrative explaining how the British Colonists of North America went from enthusiastically loyal subjects of Great Britain to declare their political independence in just over twenty years.
Instructions:
Working individually OR with a partner of your choosing, you are to consider each of the events provided in order to determine which additional events or ideas might be necessary in order to construct a coherent explanation of why the American Colonies declared their independence from Great Britain.
Group submissions will be held to a higher standard and MUST include the five (5) events assigned to each student.
Each of the cells of your StoryBoard MUST BE illustrated and captioned so that they accurately convey their historic significance and importance in your overarching narrative.
Your assignment MUST include a cell for each of the five (5) events you have been assigned AS WELL AS minimum of (10) additional cells depicting events or ideas necessary to construct a coherent chronology of the American Revolution.
Considering the parameters defined in the RUBRIC you are free to choose whatever artistic medium you believe would most effective in conveying a clear and coherent presentation of your storyboard.
Though you are not required to use online Apps or other digital resources, I have included a few for you to consider.
As with any academic research project, You MUST cite all sources that directly or indirectly contribute to your analysis, synthesis, and/or argument in the work you submit. For this assignment, a works cited page will be sufficient.
DUE: Your assignment is to be shared with shawn.dougherty@bmhs.org with the subject line “StoryBoard Assignment” no later than January 4th 2021.
