Kayla Cross, ARNP
Recovery is possible! Each person has their own journey and story to tell. Everyone deserves an individual approach to mental health and addiction treatment.
Kayla Cross is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specializing in mental health and substance use issues across the lifespan. She has worked in the mental health field over 20 years and is a strong advocate for community harm reduction efforts. She provides medication management and psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults. She founded Bloom Psychiatry in 2021 with an initial goal to expand access and availability of Sublocade and medications for opioid use disorder to people struggling to navigate our complex healthcare systems. Bloom Psychiatry has grown over the years to provide medication management for mental health and substance use disorders for all ages. We LOVE our clients and strive to provide a safe, validating place for them to work towards their dreams.
My goal is to support my clients to live their best lives.
I love to work with people struggling with addiction and/or mental health issues to achieve their goals. I offer low barrier medication treatment for substance use disorders. Combination therapy and medication management provides an evidence-based treatment approach to mental health and wellness. I strive to find a treatment plan that works for you and fits your life and goals.
Therapy Influences: I use an eclectic approach to therapy often combining Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Trauma Informed Care, and Radical Acceptance.
Open communication and trust are the cornerstones of a successful patient experience. There is no judgement on personal choices, preferences, or activities outside of helping you define your goals and supporting your pursuit of them. I want to ensure you feel safe, respected, and autonomous in choosing what you share and how we proceed with treatment.
Dylan Ward, ARNP
Dylan Ward is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner offering treatment of mental illness and substance use disorders across the lifespan through medication management and psychotherapy. He has lived in Spokane all his life and has served people struggling with mental health issues for years.
I feel strongly that those who endure mental illness and substance use disorders in our community have the innate capacity to live fulfilling and meaningful lives.
Therapy Influences: My approach emphasizes trauma informed care by exploring each individual’s unique background and present situation.
I believe it is imperative to view the whole person to better understand how to help each client achieve their goals, not just treat symptoms. I consider my relationship with each of my patients to be a collaborative journey towards reaching their highest quality of life. Reducing the stigma of mental illness and substance use disorders is one of the biggest goals in my practice. I will always work to ensure you never feel judged. The path to recovery and success in treatment is non-linear. I am here to support you through that process, every step of the way. When considering treatment options, your concerns and questions are put at the center of the decision-making process.
Shira Albert, ARNP
With over 20 years of clinical experience, Shira Albert, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, brings a grounded, whole-person approach to mental health care. She began her career in emergency nursing, where fast decision-making and compassionate care were essential, and transitioned into the provider role in psychiatric medicine in 2025. She has experience working in Family Health, Emergency Medicine, and Psychiatry, giving her a broad and deeply practical understanding of how mental, physical, and social health intersect. Shek places a strong emphasis on thoughtful, individualized medication management, integrating evidence-based prescribing with patient education, ongoing evaluation, and respect for each person’s goals, values, and lived experience.
I understand the impact of generational stress, systemic inequities, and racial compassion fatigue and strive to create a space for you to feel seen, respected, and safe to heal.
Shira has been deeply involved in community health initiatives, including supporting recovery and facilitating group support for women navigating birth trauma and mental health challenges within Black and Brown communities. She holds a deep commitment to supporting Black and Brown communities in managing mental health with love, cultural humility, and grace.
Therapy Influences: Her therapy approach centers dignity, empowerment, and trust—helping individuals reconnect with their inner resilience while receiving care that honors both their humanity and their healing process.
