The Social Studies curriculum integrates the NJ Commission on Holocaust and Genocide Education and the NJ Amistad Commission into the K-12 lessons (also the FAIR Act starting in 2020-2021 for middle and high school). We are committed to teaching all students about the importance of human dignity and respect for all people, the causes and impact of slavery, segregation, and discrimination, and the urgency of making responsible choices. We emphasize the personal responsibility that each citizen bears to fight racism, Antisemitism, and other types of hate whenever and wherever it happens, and teach students to be good citizens that care for their family, community, country, and all people of whatever gender, nationality, ethnicity, or religion.
