In grades K-4, students learn foundational concepts about history, government, geography, and economics, and we focus on developing their understanding about democracy, the rights and responsibilities of citizens, and the key events and individuals that shaped the American heritage.

The ‘Young Citizens’ program features an integrated graphic-novel style narrative in the student book that relates each chapter to common life experiences, leveled readers that promote literacy and which expand on topics from the student book, and group activity cards that encourage hands-on collaborative learning and communication. There are also wet-erase markable desk maps of the United States and World for students to explore geography, and a Patriot’s Handbook that includes federal holidays, patriotic songs, and national monuments.
