One of good practices of using video content in Blackboard is to upload videos to your Google Drive, then share the videos with "Anyone with the link," in your courses by adding Web Links in a content area.
It's always a good idea to organize your videos by creating folders in Google Drive before uploading your instructional videos to Google Drive.
To create a folder in your Google Drive
1. Log on your Gmail, then click on the Google Apps icon next to your Gmail Account [1]
2. Click on Google Drive Drive icon [2]
3. On the left of your Google Drive, click the New icon [3]
4. Click the add new Folder icon [4]
5. Give a name to it [5],
6. Click on Create button [6]. Now you can see the new folder in your G-Drive.
Before uploading the video files, double-click you have just created a folder. If you already have a folder, just double-click to open it. Now you are ready to upload the video files.
Note: you should already have the video files on your computer's local drive.
7. In your Google Drive, click the New icon and click on the File upload [7] icon to start uploading the video files
8. In the Open window, browse your computer drive to locate and select the video file(s). You can select multiple files by holding the CTRL key, and click each individual files [8]
9. Click the Open button [9]. uploading starts
10. When uploading completes, you should see the completion status (the green check mark) next to each file at the right bottom
Access the folder/location of video file you'd like to share with your class in the Google Drive
Click the file you want to share, In the top right corner of the screen, click the Share icon
3. Click Get link to bring up settings
4. in the settings click the drop-down arrow [1], select Anyone with the link [2], click Copy link, click Done.
Next, go to Blackboard
You’ll log into Blackboard and enter the course in which you want to share the link. If you are going to share a series of video links, you may want to create a whole content area for videos on the course menu, or you just add individual links in weekly content area.
Choose a content area, mouse over the Build Content Tab, then select Web Link in the sub-menu
Enter a name for the link and paste the link you copied from Google Drive in the previous steps.
2. In the Web Link Information page, enter a name for the link, then click the URL field and paste the sharable link you copied from Google Drive.
3. Click Submit.
