Little Women (2025)Premiering in November!
What Child is This? (2024)
Peter Bloedel's epic Nativity play, a work of 8 years and many collaborating departments, this telling of the birth of Christ interwove moments from Jesus' life and ministry. This Christmas spectacular featured more tech than any other BLC production and the expertise of many artists and designers.
The Adventures of Pinocchio (2022) The second time Pete and Hans wrote together, this plays follows the puppet who wishes to be a real boy and is based on the story by Carlo Collodi. Aesthetically the show was meant to feel hand crafted so puppets and masks were made and costumes were made from scraps and patchwork.
The Snow Queen (2021) The first collaboration between Emily and Maren! It is based on the Hans Christian Anderson short story. This began has a project to occupy their creativity during Covid shutdowns. With it's themes of hope, home, and togetherness it was the perfect way to welcome the world back to normalcy with a full theatre season.
The Women of Troy (2017) Translated from the Greek by BLC graduate and ELS pastor Jacob Kempfert, this Greek epic also featured original music by Benji and included the voices of the Mary Martha choir. Jacob was seen on stage in several BLC productions and adapted this Greek classic for Director Benji Inniger.
Icehouse (2016) and Icehouse Madrigals (2004) First written and performed in 2004, Icehouse hit the ice again but this time, without the singing madrigals! This Minnesota comedy is about a group of friends who decide to build the ultimate ice fishing shanty to entice their Floridian friend Oskar back to the North. All heck breaks loose when their women find out!
Aboveboard (2016) The second time Emily wrote for the BLC stage! This time, with a partner! This play first began as a viral video, to which Emily thought...why wouldn't an apartment owner and a squatter caught on camera stealing his food fall in love?! Peter Bloedel and Emily spent a summer working together and tweaking the script...and then tweaking it again to prepare it for publishing. This script is published has been performed multiple times since...and Pete and Emily even went to one of the performances!
A Christmas Carol (2014)
From the Dicken's classic novel of redemption, charity, and true Christmas joy, this adaptation featured a large cast including 10 children (many of whom are current students or recent graduates!).
Child of Grace (2010)
Emily Kimball's first venture into playwriting, this story began as a one-act written for the Playwriting class and then later expanded into a full length play. It's the story of a woman broken from guilt, the connection of family, and the process of forgiveness.

One acts that began as Theatre Physics "End Skits" have since been published and are frequently performed by high schools, middle schools, and used as speech pieces in competitive Speech.
