Monthly MUSIC Newsletter

Here's what's happening this December in Music:

Our December "Composer of the Month" is George Frideric Handel (1685 - 1759).

Concerts

Performing in a concert fulfills the NJ State Standards Performance requirements, not to mention is a ton of fun! We sent those dates to you in October and updates throughout the year can be found here.

Our next concert will be:

Grades 5 & 6 Holiday Ensemble Concert

Featuring: 5th Grade Choir Bears, 5th Grade Band, 6th Grade Drama Bears, 6th Grade Strings, and 6th Grade Band
Performance date: December 10, 2025 at 6:30 p.m.
Snow date: December 15th at 6:30 p.m.

Preschool

Our Preschool is just starting to use our classroom instruments! What a fun way to learn rhythm and steady beat.

Kindergarten - 2nd Grades:

Our primary grades will enjoy learning holiday songs this month! We also will have a Music Share Day at the end of the marking period where all students have the option to perform a song, dance, or instrument for the class.

3rd Grade:

Our Third graders will sign off Challenge #1 in their Recorder Apprentice books this month! Then they'll be ready to add a new note: G, which will add fun songs like "Hot Cross Buns" to their repertoire.

4th & 5th Grades:

Our fourth and fifth graders will learn about George Frideric Handel and hear the music and history of his most famous work: the Messiah. I hope they enjoy this beautiful holiday music!

6th Grade:

The sixth graders are in the process of filming their holiday handchimes music! We are excited to share each homeroom's video performance by the end of the month.

A note from Ms. Pasculli:

This December I'm practicing for my own Christmas Eve vocal performance. Among other holiday favorites, I will be singing "O Holy Night". Have a wonderful holiday season!

I encourage your child to explore the links to my website (below) and spend some time enjoying Music at home. 3rd Grade recorder players and 5th & 6th graders are encouraged to practice their instrument/concert music at home using their Music Google Classroom resources.
