Here's what's happening this January in Music:

Happy New Year!

Our January Composer of the Month is: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Mozart has some of the most recognizable music in the world. Let's see how many pieces of his music you recognize this month!

Concerts

Performing in a concert fulfills the NJ State Standards Performance requirements, not to mention is a ton of fun! We sent those dates to you in October and updates throughout the year can be found here.

Our next concert will be:

Grades 1 & 2 Musical
Performance date: March 11, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.
Snow date: March 12th at 2:00 p.m.

Preschool

Preschool is enjoying singing, dancing, and using classroom instruments! What a blast!

Kindergarten - 2nd Grades:

This month, our primary grades will move to "Symphony No. 40" and "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik" by Mozart. We will also explore different body movements to classical music by other composers.

3rd Grade:

Our Third graders will sign off Challenge #1 in their Recorder Apprentice books this month! Then they'll be ready to add a new note: G, which will add fun songs like "Hot Cross Buns" to their repertoire.

4th Grade:

This month, our fourth graders will learn more music vocabulary, music symbols, different styles of music, and forms of music through songs and movement.

5th & 6th Grades:

The upperclassmen will begin our ukuleles instrument unit this month. What a unique experience to learn this fun stringed instrument!

6th Grade Holiday Chimes Video Presentation:

In case you missed it, the 6th grade Chimes Ensembles prepared a special holiday video presentation during Music Class and we wanted to share it with you:

A note from Ms. Pasculli:

Mozart is my absolute favorite composer! I even traveled to Vienna and Salzburg, Austria in 2009 to see where he was born, married, worked, etc. I look forward to sharing my love of Mozart with you!

Music Resources for Home:

I encourage your child to explore the links to my website (below) and spend some time enjoying Music at home. 3rd Grade recorder players and 5th & 6th graders are encouraged to practice their instrument/concert music at home using their Music Google Classroom resources.
