Here's what's happening this February in Music:

February is Black History Month

Let's celebrate Black History Month with an influential American composer, pianist, and jazz bandleader: Duke Ellington

Concerts

Performing in a concert fulfills the NJ State Standards Performance requirements, not to mention is a ton of fun! We sent those dates to you in October and updates throughout the year can be found here.

Our next concert will be:

Grades 1 & 2 Musical
Performance date: March 11, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.
Snow date: March 12th at 2:00 p.m.

Preschool & Kindergarten

Preschool and Kindergarten are staying warm in Music by moving and grooving to the beat! We love to dance!

1st & 2nd Grades:

First and second grade are having a blast preparing for our "Barnyard Moosical" Concert! Our talented students will be appearing at 2:00 p.m. on March 11th.

3rd Grade:

Our Third graders all signed off Challenge #1 in their Recorder Apprentice books this past month. I'm so proud of them! Now we are working on our new note: G.

4th Grade:

This month, our fourth graders will learn about our Composer of the Month: Duke Ellington. Duke was an American composer, pianist, and jazz bandleader and was an integral part of our Music and American History.

5th & 6th Grades:

The upperclassmen will continue with our ukuleles instrument unit this month. The students are quickly getting the hang of this fun stringed instrument!

A note from Ms. Pasculli:

I enjoy the snow and I really love to go snowshoeing! My goal for February is to get out snowshoeing at some point.

Music Resources for Home:

I encourage your child to explore the links to my website (below) and spend some time enjoying Music at home. 3rd Grade recorder players and 5th & 6th graders are encouraged to practice their instrument/concert music at home using their Music Google Classroom resources.
