Online Safety

15th April 2020

Dear Parents, Carers and Children

On-line safety whilst schools are closed

Whilst schools are closed, children are likely to be spending more time on-line. In light of this, it is very important that children are clear on how to raise and report concerns encountered online.

Sites for children to access help:

· Childline - for support

· Thinkuknow - for advice from the National Crime Agency to stay safe online

Sites for children and young people under 18 to access help:

· UK Safer Internet Centre - to report and remove harmful online content

· CEOP - for advice on making a report about online abuse

If a child needs to report a concern, please could you also let the school know by leaving a message on 01373 859 172 or emailing admin@bithambrook.wilts.sch.uk

Sites that provide support for parents and carers to keep their children safe online include:

· Internet matters

· London Grid for Learning

· Net-aware - from the NSPCC

· Parent info

· UK Safer Internet Centre - advice for parents and carers

Best wishes
