This year as part of the British International School’s compulsory residential programme, the Year 6 pupils will be travelling to Orchard Home Resort in Cat Tien National Park, Tân Phú District, Đồng Nai Province, Vietnam.
The programme has been organised with Asiamotions, a professional company, based in Vietnam. They specialise in adventure activities and tours, and provide a high standard of safety and technical expertise.

The pupils will be encouraged to participate in memorable and high impact activities which engage all the senses and should leave them empowered by the feeling of “If I can do this, I can do anything!”
7:30-55am: Arrive at BIS Juniors
8:15am: Leave BIS Juniors (Gate C)
11:30: Arrive to Orchard Home Resort, check-in & lunch
11:30: Depart from Orchard Home Resort, Cat Tien
3pm: Arrive at BIS Juniors (Gate B)
Travel to and from Cat Tien will be aboard coaches which have been safety assessed and provided by our regular residential travel company. Journey time is roughly 3 hours with a rest stop along the way.
The area of Cat Tien offers an introduction to living within a natural environment, surrounded by nature, away from the pollution of the city.
We will be staying at Orchard Home Resort, an equipped home from home for our pupils with all the essentials to ensure our learners are comfortable yet challenged to become more independent and self-organised.
Please be aware that times and activities may change depending on the weather and the needs of the groups.
The teachers accompanying the children will be contacting the school each day to report on the day’s activities. Updates to the trip website will be made daily. Photographs of the activities will be shared via Asiamotions’ link below. You will need the password to be able to access the photographs.

Photos will be uploaded every night and should be available from 9am the following day, as long the internet connection is working.
All medicine will be kept and administered by a teacher. Medicines should be labelled with your child’s name, the dosage and time of day it should be taken. A letter giving details, and signed by the parent/guardian, should also be given to the class teacher.
No medicine should be kept by the children, except for those who use asthma inhalers. These pupils should carry their own, named, inhaler at all times; a ‘spare’ should be handed in, also named.
Asia Motions and BIS staff include trained First Aiders.
Local Hospital: Tan Phu, Medical Centre. Vietnamese Hospital located 6km away from the Cat Tien.
Transport is permanently parked in the central resort of Cat Tien for emergency transport or evacuation. Main hospital for evacuation is located in Ho Chi Minh City: FV Hospital or Family Medical Practice.
Travel Insurance has been arranged for each student. This is standard cover for our pupils as used on all BIS trips. It includes cover for a range of eventualities including personal accident. If you require any further details please contact the school.

Your back pack must be suitable for your Day 1 afternoon activities. This will be shared with you before the trip and with your families on Seesaw. Put a plastic bag inside so it is waterproof.

Lightweight DARK coloured towels for showering/bathing

1 set of “wet” clothes, including shoes for kayaking (old trainers or water sport shoes), an old T-shirt and shorts

All items of clothing and personal belongings should be clearly named.
Pupils must be able to carry their own suitcase / large bag and back pack.
Pupils should know what is in their case, what it is for and be able to re-pack their bag independently.

No iPods or MP3 players
