Bismarck Capitals vs. Minot Wolves (Bantams)

On Thursday December 7th, the Bismarck Capitals played their main rivals the Minot Wolves. The game was played at the brand new Wachter Ice Arena. The Capitals have only lost one other game this season and that was also against Minot. You could feel the intensity in the rink. Right as the game started it was high hitting and back and forth. The Capitals got a goal about halfway through the first when Ryan Ketterling got a lucky bounce from the blue line and it bounced over the left shoulder of Minot's goalie. Minot got one back pretty quickly with a rebound from the point. The first period was over and bot teams went right into the second. The game was still high paced and both teams added another one to the board. The second period was now in the books and the Capitals made there way to the third. The game felt like forever until the Capitals dumped the puck down low and Lucas Schweigert took a hard snapshot from the corner of the blue line and Lucas Wetzel tipped the puck off of the Minot goalies pads and Ben Mansmith finished it off and threw it to the back of the net. Everyone thought that was going to be the game winner until Minot came back with a wrist shot from the top of the hashmarks and scored bottom left on the goal. The game went into overtime and both teams were out of gas, but luckily Minot called a timeout. Both teams got rested and the hard hitting began again. Bismarck was down 3 players due to injuries so people were impressed how well they were still playing. Casey Odegaard made many amazing saves until Minot had a lucky break at the end and one of the forwards snuck behind the defense and pushed the puck right through the five hole. Minot had took the W yet again. Bismarck was determined to beat them next time.
