We want to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves and express how excited we are to be the school counsellors for the academic year 2024-2025. We are Ms. Monica and Mr. Jason. Both of us have many years of experience working alongside children and young adults in private healthcare settings as well as international schools.
Counselling is an individual, confidential process designed to address concerns and help you gain a better understanding of yourself. It is an open, collaborative learning process that takes time and practice. If you attend regular counselling sessions, you will feel more in control of your thoughts, mood, and feelings.
Counselling can be beneficial in a number of ways. It can help reduce psychological distress, manage stress (we understand how challenging the IB program can be), cope with bereavement (if you've lost a significant person in your life), navigate relationship difficulties (whether personal, familial, or among friends), and manage struggles with regulating emotions, thought distortions, or complicated family situations.
Our office is on the second floor of the Arts building, room 222. If you have anything you would like to discuss or to arrange an appointment, kindly email us at Monica.Grijalva@bisc.edu.eg or Jason.Ahmed@bisc.edu.eg.
We wish you every success for the academic year ahead.Â
Ms. Monica and Mr. Jason
