For parents/carers new to our school, we are holding a welcome meeting on Monday 16th June at 4pm.
For parents/carers who would like the class teacher to visit them and their child at home, we can facilitate this during school hours on Monday 30th June. Please contact the school office to arrange this.
Visits to Reception Class:
Thursday 10th July: Your child is invited to join us in the Reception class and spend some time getting to know the staff and making new friends. Children in Group 1 are invited into school from 9:15-11:15am on this day, and children in Group 2 are invited in from 1:15-3:15pm. We will confirm which group your child is in shortly. Please bring and collect your child to/from the Reception outdoor play area. Children who attend the pre-school will be collected and returned to/from class.
Friday 11th July: Your child is invited to come along with his/her favourite teddy or toy for a Teddy Bears' Picnic. Please let the school office know if your child has any dietary needs. For children in Group 2, this will take place from 9:15-11:15am and for children in Group 1, this will be from 1:15-3:15pm.
Starting School in September
Our aim is to make school a happy and secure place for your child and admit new children gradually into Reception class. A smooth transition allows staff to really get to know each child individually, as well as giving children the opportunity to know the staff well too. We will inform you in due course which session your child should attend.
Between Tuesday 2nd - Friday 5th September, children will attend Reception daily on either a morning (9-11:30am) or afternoon (1-3:30pm) session.
Group 1 will attend mornings between Tuesday 2nd September and Wednesday 3rd September, and then afternoons on Thursday 4th September and Friday 5th September.
Group 2 will attend afternoons between Tuesday 2nd September and Wednesday 3rd September, and then mornings on Thursday 4th September and Friday 5th September.
On Monday 8th September, all children will attend for the full day and stay for lunch. Thereafter, all children will attend school full-time.
Once per term parents/carers are invited into school to discuss your child's progress and how you might further support them. Further details will be shared in due course.
Throughout the course of the year, we offer several 'stay and play' sessions where parents have the opportunity to see what their child is learning and become involved in it. These sessions are also good opportunities to meet other parents and chat informally to the teaching staff.
