ML/ELs are NOT just students who are from another country. They are also students who were raised hearing heritage, ancestor or another language while growing up. In the US, think any language spoken at home that isn't English--so any Indigenous language or other minoritized languages. The student may or may not speak the home language. 

BPS has over 320+ Identified students, over 30+ languages.

How can i be sure which students are mls?

There is information is on PoweSchool & Power Teacher. 

However, this is basic and doesn't tell you about the EL plan, goals or modifications that your specific learner will need in the classroom to be successful.
