Option 1) US History sections fro ML/ELs-- English read aloud, translate into multiple languages using Google Translate, visuals, vocabulary, etc. 

Option 2) VOA News --latest news from around the world. There are even versions of the VOA news in multiple languages--great for current events.

From VOA--there are 246 fifteen minute programs and 5 four-minute programs (with transcripts). Access here.

Sorted by date range 1400s to 2000s. There are also come special sections on Lewis & Clark, Tuskegee Airman, and other special topics.

He has created a US government unit with lots of scaffolded text, activities and very picture heavy--a great way to support your ML/EL and he has made it FREE and shareable via Google. Check it out here. Use that would support YOUR classroom of learners!

Choose from Geography, Government, US History, World History, Sociology, Economics...etc.

Visuals, graphs, charts, pictures and video help comprehension. 

Web-based, so students can use Google Translate (if avaialable) to help comprehend the text.

No signed DPA, so you cannot assign tasks to students. Another work around---You could download as PDF and use Google Translate to get it into another language, if web-based is not working for your students.
