Youth Recreational Soccer FAQs
Can I make friend requests for myself or my child?
Yes! To make a request, please use this Google Form.
Is any previous soccer experienced required to participate in BIFC rec soccer programs?
No previous soccer experience is required for any of our recreational soccer age groups. We do our best to ensure that teams are balanced and that beginners are in a supportive environment.
Does my child need to wear shin guards and soccer cleats?
Soccer players are required to wear shin guards for games starting in Kindergarten. For shoes, we recommend athletic shoes that your child is comfortable running in.
Is slide tackeling allowed in games or at practice?
We ask that players refrain from slide tackeling in games or during practice. If a player goes to ground by accident, but we ask that they get to their feet as quick as possible.
Do I need previous coaching experience or a coaching license to volunteer to coach my child's team?
No previous experience is necessary.
BIFC staff will be available throughout the season to help support new coaches.
Look out for the pre-season coaches conference call.
Age-appropriate games and lesson plans will be emailed to volunteer coaches.
