My family and I donated 32 cans of food to go the a homeless shelter
My cousin donated 10 cans on top of the 32, in total we donated over 42 cans
From this experience, I have learned a few things. One of those things that I learned was, it is always good to think of others before you think of yourself. Another thing I learned that I will always use is, in order to help people you do not have to spend a crazy amount of money. You can simply donate clothes you do not use, you can also donate canned foods. Canned food and soups are cheap, and I know many families have canned food and soups in their pantry and do not use them. During this project I had help from family members as well, when I brought up the idea of donating food to the food shelf they thought it was a great idea. Around Christmas me and my family will always donate time money or supplies to a local shelter. My dad had the most fun with donating, we have made it a family tradition. My dad grew up in New York, when growing up he didn't get a fancy car or toys. He understands what it is like, that is why it is important to him and my family to donate. Anyone can help out in some kind of way!
