History I

We will be starting with the Second Industrial Revolution, Immigration and Urbanization in the United States unit and move forward in time to Eisenhower Era. 

Students have access to their textbook online and there are books in my room, which we will use as needed.

Students will need a notebook for notes.  Composition books work well. (see image below)  As long as pages are not torn out, the notebook will be quite durable. Also there will be no metal sprial to become an issue (like getting caught on clothing or making opening or closing the notebook difficult).  A composition book should have enough pages to get through the year, if you get the 100 page one.    They will also need a pen/pencil and a highlighter for class.  I will provide their answer notebook, which will remain in my classroom.   

Everything students will need will be available to them either in class (ex. physical worksheets), on Google classroom or on the ebook website (a link is on Clever). Students should be logging in to Google classroom daily (especially if they miss class).  It is also would be helpful for them to be checking their email daily, too.  When I post items in Google classroom or make comments on assignments, notifications are pushed out to students via email.  There is the possibility to modify the notifications, however they may miss an important announcement or question, if they turn the notifications off.

Retakes - Students may also see information on the assessment bulletin board in room 170.

Standing homework - review unit vocabulary using the study resources on the class quizlet. 3-5 day per week 5-10 minutes per study session.  If there is additional homework it is announced in class and a reminder will be provided.
