Everything students will need will be available to them either in the classroom (physical worksheets and books), on Google classroom or in the ebook "Portfolio Deutsch Neu" (a link to the ebook website is on clever). A notebook for written work and notes is required a composition book works well is in quite durable It also can progress to the next level with the studnet if they choose to continue studying German. Students should be checking their email daily as sometimes that is the best way to get information to them or from them.

Due to schedule limitations and the number of students enrolled in German, German I / II and IV will be in the same period and same classroom. There will likely be some direct instruction each day with independent/group practice. Work will be collected, reviewed and feedback provided. Students are encouraged to make edits to their work to be better prepared for assessments. The biggest hurdle to this class configuration is divided attention - There will be time when students will be completing seatwork or small group work and I will be working with another sub group in the room. This means there is a level of intrinsic motivation and focus necessary to stay up to date on tasks. Students also need a level of confidence to ask questions when they need assistance on a task as I may not see issues until after work in completed. We will discuss in class how to handle questions if I am actively teaching or if one of the subgroups is completing a listening activity.
