Step #1 – The information needed up front to evaluate the teachers’ qualifications is needed:
Teachers must possess an undergraduate degree, but a graduate degree is preferred. Teachers must possess a cumulative GPA of equal to or greater than a 2.75, or a graduate degree with a 3.0 or higher. The documents below will be sent to an approved evaluator in the U.S., and if they pass Step #1, then we will move to Step #2.
Must provide copies of transcripts translated in English
Must provide graduation certification translated in English
Must provide final degree certification certificate translated in English
Must provide a color copy of Undergraduate diploma translated in English

Step #2 – Teachers will participate in a training on the Framework of Teaching standards based around four Domains: 1-Planning and Preparation, 2-Classroom Environment, 3-nstruction, and 4-Professional Responsibilities. Each teacher will be given a set time to submit a portfolio documenting their understanding of the Framework for Teaching. Each portfolio will be evaluated by a professional evaluator assigned by BGEMS.
o PART A: The teacher will submit a written portfolio that includes:
Reflective writing pieces explicitly explain how you have met the criteria for each of the indicators under Domains 2 and 3 of the Framework for Teaching standards. Each of the 10 indicators should be addressed. Include at least four sample artifacts (e.g., lesson plan, worksheet, assessment, PowerPoint, student work, photograph) with each domain narrative as evidence.
Revised lesson plan You will be asked to revise and improve a lesson plan to meet the six indicators under Domain 1 of the Framework for Teaching standards. You will highlight the changes you make and explain how your lesson now meets the indicators.
Teacher must follow guidelines and score at least 65/75 on the portfolio.
o PART B: Prepare an oral presentation (no PowerPoint or notecards) citing evidence of how you have met the six indicators for Domain 4 in the Framework for Teaching standards. The presentation will be no longer than 10 minutes in length and should not be read from a script. At the end of the presentation be prepared to answer questions from the education consultants provided by BGEMS.
The purpose of the oral presentation is to evaluate the English-speaking skills of the teacher. The oral presentation will be through Zoom of documenting evidence from teaching experience of meeting one Kentucky Teacher Standard.
Teacher must follow guidelines and score at least 20/25 on the oral presentation.
Step #3 – The balance of the materials are due once the teacher pass all of their tests. Upon passing the teachers will be qualified and will receive a Kentucky Certification once they arrive into the U.S.
