If you scored lower than a 70% on a test or quiz, the brief answer is yes, you may raise your grade by completing quiz corrections and meeting with your teacher. Please view our Test and Quiz Corrections directions, the Test and Quiz Corrections models as well as our "Grading Policy" page for more information.
Each year our students have written "This I Believe" speeches. These persuasive speeches are written, revised and delivered with one goal in mind; convince the audience to consider your belief statement. Students then deliver speeches or portions of their speeches during an assembly. Please visit our "ELA Resources" page as well as our "ELA Home" page for more specific information about this assignment and the "This I Believe" organization.
Each fall and spring, students at BFCCPS are asked to participate in MAP (Measure of Academic Progress) testing. MAP testing have been created by the NWEA (Northwest Evaluation Association) to assist teachers and administrators in isolating areas of strength and areas of growth for individual students. This helps teachers target their lessons to highlight new or difficult concepts and skills for students rather than reteaching skills that students have already mastered. RTI (Response to Intervention) is requested when a student has shown a difficulty with a particular skill as reflected on their MAP testing data. The RTI specialist comes into classrooms to provided targeted instruction and practice for students who qualify. Once the student has mastered the skill the MAP testing isolated as an are of growth, they no longer receive RTI services. RTI services do not replace an IEP (Individual Education Plans) administered by special education staff and should not be viewed as an equivalent academic plan.
