Do the important things first! Put First things first!
Do you prioritize to meet your goals? What kind of person are you? Read the following to answer the items in your mission statement...
A Yes Person: Are you a crowd-pleaser? Do you take on other people's tasks when you should be taking care of your own? It’s okay to help people as long as you’re minding your own store. Do you offer to help someone with their math homework even though you have a big science test that you have not studied for tomorrow?
A Procrastinator: There will always be things we cannot control like helping a sick friend or meeting important deadlines. But more importantly, there are things we can control like playing video games instead of studying for a test. Doing chores and housework when we should be writing a book report that is due tomorrow; waiting until the last minute to finish a project.
A Slacker: Someone who thrives on ideas and actions that are neither important nor urgent. No problem with too much TV or sleep; a professional loafer. There is nothing wrong with any of these examples as long as they are not performed in excess.
A Prioritizer: One that plans ahead, finishes things on time and does well. Make sure to prioritize the important ideas and tasks to get them done first followed by the less important ones.
Your task: Read and fill in your mission statement for Habit 3...What kind of person are you? Prioritize: what I want to be, because I want to: (Put an X Next to the most important to you). Then, as we discussed earlier there are two kinds of time, Somebody else’s time (work) and Your time (play) In the chart make a list of priority items that you NEED to complete and items you love to or WANT to do: list three for each box please)
