Earth Day Activity Ideas
1st grade:
Be a Monster Re-user-reusable water bottle project
The coordinator will come in the fall with Red Rex to do a 20 minute presentation and hand out re-usable water bottles to your class.
2nd grade:
Vermicomposting: Students learn about red wiggler worms and worm bin ecosystems and how these can help with waste reduction goals.
This is not a lesson or presentation, simply sign up and the materials will be delivered to you.
2. Design/decorate used paper bags and donate to stores to be re-used
Class collects bags from home, then coordinator brings in materials for them to decorate and then drops them off at stores to be re-used. (30 minutes)
3rd grade:
1. Recycled Art: Students will use something considered trash to create something new.
4th grade:
5th grade:
1. Make your own water filter-45-50 minutes
2. How can you protect the environment-50-60 minutes
