In kicking off the new year, students have been learning the craft of argumentative writing. Students were asked, "Should people be eating more bugs?" While students had their initial feeling about the matter, we have been researching to better write our claim with strong, supportive reasons and evidence.
As we near the end of the year students are going to be reflecting on meaningful, memorable moments in their life and more specifically their time at Bethany Community School. Students will first look closely at memoirs to help them understand how when choosing a memory to write about it can be big or small, silly or serious. They will also learn to provide a reflective conclusion that helps readers understand the significance of the moment they chose to write about.
