The role of Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) in learning a foreign language
My Erasmus+ mobility experience was highly enriching, both professionally and personally. One of the most positive aspects was the well-structured and engaging course content, which offered a perfect balance between theory and practice. The training was led by experienced and supportive trainers who created an inclusive and motivating learning environment. Their guidance helped me develop confidence in using the CLIL approach and inspired me to experiment with new teaching methods. A major strength of the programme was the opportunity for international collaboration. Working closely with colleagues from diverse educational backgrounds provided valuable perspectives and sparked meaningful professional discussions. Sharing experiences, challenges, and solutions with fellow participants helped me realize the universality of certain educational issues, while also highlighting innovative practices from other countries that I can now adapt to my own context. The practical nature of the training – including group tasks, lesson planning, and project work – allowed for immediate application of the concepts learned. I especially appreciated the chance to evaluate real teaching materials and co-create CLIL resources, which I have already started integrating into my classroom planning. In terms of logistics, the organization of the course was excellent. All sessions were well-paced and clearly connected to the intended learning outcomes. The location in Rovinj also offered a culturally rich backdrop, and the inclusion of local activities contributed to team-building and intercultural awareness. I encountered no major negative aspects. Overall, the Erasmus+ mobility was a transformative experience. It not only enhanced my methodological skills but also renewed my enthusiasm for teaching and international cooperation. I would highly recommend this programme to other educators seeking meaningful professional development and cross- cultural engagement.
