During the trip, the students experienced a wealth of natural and historical sights while gaining deeper knowledge about sustainable development and the value of cultural heritage.The journey included visits to Cluj-Napoca’s historic landmarks, where students explored the city’s rich history and architectural treasures. They also discovered the Zsibó Arboretum, immersing themselves in its diverse plant collections and learning about the importance of biodiversity and environmental conservation. In Aiud, they attended presentations in both English and German about Kisvárda and the Besis region, which enhanced their language skills and provided insights into local history and culture.A significant part of the program involved language-based presentations on sustainability and environmental protection, encouraging students to think critically about their role in preserving the planet. The group also embarked on a joint excursion to Torockó, where they visited a folk ethnographic museum, an ancient 250-year-old watermill,in Alba Iulia , students visited Transylvania’s historical significance.In Carei, they explored the Károlyi Castle and participated in sustainability projects within the city, such as assessing local trees and waste bins, which emphasized community involvement in environmental efforts. They also visited the Natural Science Museum, enriching their knowledgeof regional flora, fauna, and geology. An educational highlight was a trip to the Turda salt mine, where they learned about Transylvania’s historyand gained insight into the region’s cultural and historical background. Additionally, the students visited the Plébános Winery, where they learned about sustainable agriculture practices and the significance of local traditions in viticulture. The rich experiences and learning opportunities significantly contributed to their personal growth and reinforced their commitment to environmental sustainability and the preservation of cultural heritage.
