CLIL in Practise: Focus on Ireland
I believe the Erasmus Program offers an exceptionally unique platform for professional growth. Through this program, it was an extremely remarkable experience to develop my teaching skills, broadened my pedagogical skills, I could gain exposure to diverse teaching methodologies, and exchange knowledge with educators from different cultural backgrounds. In such a new educational environment, I could acquire innovative teaching techniques that could be effectively used in my lessons in the future. I learned many creative techniques, and I improved my skills in digital teaching. I could also met with wome new innovative use of digital tools and technologies. Furthermore, it is essential to focus on intercultural exchange. I always try to emphasize the importance of cultural understanding among students. When you learn a new language, you get familiar with a new culture and mindset. Hence, engaging with colleagues and students from different countries provided valuable insights into other educational systems, teaching approaches, and cultural perspectives. This exposure enabled me to develop a more multicultural teaching approach and enrich the educational experience. Besides, I could broaden my mind with new perspectives on how to enhance those students' performance and how to make a lesson more interesting, more enjoyable. I learned that group activities, more elicitation, more visuals and etc. could be extremely helpful, because this way the "students can teach themselves" rather than just get information from their teacher. This method is more effective than any other teaching method, because this way they have to use their brain's every kind of area, and they have to connect together the new information. This way they can scaffold the language. So, this transformative journey provided me new teaching strategies and experiences that I brought back to our institution. Now, I can share my learnings and insights with my colleagues.
